Imperfections Make Us Unique

I was inspired by Chriselle from The Chriselle Factor to write about one of my insecurities. Her message is that even if you wear the most beautiful outfit, confidence is the most important accessory you can wear. I absolutely love wearing heels but I always felt insecure about my calves. As a child, I used to take dance lessons and unconsciously used to compare my calves to the peers around me. I felt that they were very prominent in a masculine way compared to other girls so I used to try to find ways to hide them. When I look at magazines and other blogs, people seem to find slender long legs with small calves more attractive. However, I have slowly come to embrace my flaws and differences because that is what makes me unique. If everyone had the same body size, there would be no uniqueness. I have also learned that my calves are what give me the ability and muscle strength to wear heels so often and have good balance.

I chose to style this mini-dress from CNDirect with a pair of strappy heels, which brings attention to my legs. With every outfit, I am learning to love the person I am with confidence. Feel free to share you insecurities!
